Hello everyone,

Just in from a breath of fresh air at The Log Farm. I will be a vendor at the Barrhaven Farmers’ Market this summer at the farm and had a great orientation with the owner, Larry Orr.

My excitement is beginning to percolate, especially knowing that, if required, I will have assistance getting that darn vendor tent up.  I don’t see how anyone can raise them on their own. I’m still practicing and hope to get the hang of setting it up alone before May 20th. Any tips from readers would be welcome.

This will be my first chance to be a vendor at The Log Farm. Many customers have suggested I’d be a good fit. I listened, applied, and was accepted. It feels like its a perfect venue for Hazy DayZ Dragonflies, as I am a farmgirl, through and through.

I can be found at The Log Farm on alternating Saturdays beginning May 20th through Thanksgiving, with the exception of June 3rd, when I have a previously booked event, The Red Trillium Studio Spring Tour. More on that later.

The Log Farm is a working farm in the heart of Nepean. It is open to visitors and harnesses a blend of late 1800’s and current farming techniques. Plan a visit to the farm to see and pet the animals. They have sheep, goats, alpacas, cows, horses, pigs, rabbits, ducks, chicken and geese. There’s a donkey too.

On Saturdays from May through Thanksgiving, Barrhaven Farmers Market sets up in their circular drive from 9am to 2pm. The market offers fresh, LOCAL, fruits, vegetables, preserves, cheeses, breads, meats, on-site edibles, and artisan crafts. To learn more, please visit their website at https://thelogfarm.com

I will see you there.

Other locations I will be this summer:

June 3rd and 4th – Red Trillium Studio Tour, NEW LOCATION – I’ll be with JENNIFER AJERSCH, in her lovely home on the Ottawa River. 2820 Barlow Crescent, Dunrobin, West Carleton;

July 21st and 22nd – Ontario Horticultural Association 115th Convention, BROOKSTREET HOTEL, Kanata. (Closed Event.);

August 4th and 5th – Glengarry Highland Games, Maxville;

I will be participating again in the Signatures Originals Christmas Craft Sale, December 6th through December 10th, at the EY Centre, Ottawa.

I am also hoping to nail down a few other events this fall. One in particualr, a Christmas Craft event that takes place in KINGSTON, ON at the Thompson Drill Hall on the Base in Novemeber.  I vividly remember doing drill in that hall sporadically during my military days, 1984-1995. I would love to take it full circle. If anyone knows the person/people to speak with, please let me know.

New this Spring?  Glow-in-the-Dark Dragonflies, and a few GITD Butterflies too.
