Sunny – Driftwood Accent
Who doesn’t love Aqua?
Or do you call this turquoise; maybe teal? I guess it’s a matter of perspective.
Three copper, patina-winged, dragonflies happily hover around a driftwood base.
Driftwood collected along shores of The Ottawa River, May 2020, while social distancing at sun-up. Air-dried 6 months, allowing possible residents to vacate.
Meticulously cleaned. Finished with a protective outdoor-grade clear, water-base urethane for durability and to enhance woodgrain.
I have developed my own copper solution. Recipe of copper scraps, salt, and white vinegar.
Combined with healthy dollop of patience, solution produces a finish that rivals the green copper roofs on many historic buildings such as those of Canada’s Parliament Buildings.
