Driftwood Breeze Mobile – SAND CASTLES

Naturally blonde wood, pastel and neutral-coloured Amazonite beads, combined with a very warm May day while creating, brought sea and “SAND CASTLES” to mind.

Ottawa River Driftwood, cleaned, lightly sanded. Intentionally left natural, without clear-coat.

Ten copper critters, 7 dragonflies and 3 butterflies surround a single air plant, ‘Tilly.’

Tilly is enveloped by a protective limb; gently wired to enable weekly, overnight-soaking removal.

The first Hazy DayZ Dragonflies breeze mobile to incorporate butterflies – Solved the butterfly balance puzzle.

Distressed aqua-patinated wings. Patina created from home recipe of my copper scraps, white vinegar and pink salt, along with a fair deal of patience.

Pastel semi-precious Amazonite beads (10mm and 6mm) ensure the balance of 4 circulating branches and copper “Fancifulls.”

Recommended for indoor display with indirect sunlight to keep “Tilly” happy. Patina finish not recommended for outdoors, at least not in rainy weather.

Watering and care instructions supplied for those new to air plants.

84 cm (33 inches) diameter X 97 cm (38 inches) drop from top arm. Requires 50 cm – 20 inches – minimum wall clearance.

SAND CASTLES is the largest breeze mobile made to date. It will require a prominent foyer or vaulted ceiling location. With ceilings exceeding 9-feet  Conversely, set lower in it’s own space, it is fun to watch from above; mesmerizing in fact. Preferably with a loft look-out to view their movement from above.

Patina finish not recommended for outdoor display.
